Here's you guys another rearend question or two.How many r's will I turn (aprox.) with a 3.45 gear if I turn 6000 now with a 3.08 gear and I don't change anything else? And, how can I tell what size ring gear is in a car(7.5 or 8.8) just by looking at the housing?

what is your trannie. Take and find your final ratio now and the one you want to achieve. It has been a while but I think for every .1 difference that is about 100 R's. or just go to tool box and put in what it says in gear selector and you will get close.

ON an 8.8 rear you can't get that 8.8 inches in the 7.5 housing. Just measure the inspection cover. 7.5 housing is only 8.5 inches between the upper and lower bolt holes. An 8.8 will be 10 or so. Hope that helps.

8.8 has a round cover and a 7.5 has a almost sqaure cover.
