I am driving an 83 celica RWD and we are they allowing us to use racing wheels and tires...
How do I choose the right setup without spending a big pile of money to try different offsets? Is anyone running a wheel and tire combo on a celica with good success? How much did you spend?
Right now I am running stock 5.5" wheels with Hoosier 215/60R14 and 2" smaller on LR... Pretty good success but.,..they are allowing the change and they are banning my stock aluminum wheels so...
Thank for input.

I WOULD RUN 2INCH OFFSET ON RIGHT SIDE AND 3INCH OFFSET ON LEFT SIDE/ 6INCH WIDE ON ALL.
I RUN THAT ON MANY CARS. COROLLA, MUSTANGS AND NOW ON STREET STOCKS.

Baycityracer is spot on we run the same off set on our car and it works great on most tracks, but some time we run a 4inch off set on LR depending on the track changes

Ok... Are you still running any stagger in the rear? and what tire sizes are you running? Are you running 13" wheels?

speedonline- give us more info-how are you gear-ed? Size & condition of track? Your track tire width rule? How much engine you running? Hitting the basics on your question-13" wheels, like the legend wheels or the aero wheels. I've never had any luck with the Bart wheels. 14" wheels aero doesn't make. For 14" & 15" wheels we make our own. They are a little heavier, but they will take a beating! Take a Chev. rally wheel- cut the center out of a stock toyota wheel, it'll fit right in & weld it. Make any kind of off set you want! Starting, basic set up, slick track- 3 off all way around, square the front, 2" stagger rear. Tacky-horse power track, 3 off right side (sometimes 4 off, right front) left side, 3off left front&4off left rear- 4-6inches stagger, depending on the track.

I never considered making my own wheels...
I am running on a 3/8's mile high banked oval. It is usually tacky and with 14" wheels and 215/60r14'a I am winding up perfectly. I have an 83 Celica GT w/ 22re with 5 speed with stock gearing (not sure exactly what it is)
The Rear is welded and I have 2" staggered on the rear and even on the front. As for Tire width rule I am not 100% sure but Rim width is 8"max.
Thank you for your help so far.

I pulled the tach out at the begining of last season and the only gauges I have in it now is Oil and Temp... I think the last time I checked it was turning 5300-5800 RPM's
