How much can you mill the block on a ford 2.3?We have milled the head and need more compression. Pistons in the hole or out of the hole? What have some of you done and howmuch to have done? thanks RacerRita

check your rules first. if they let you go 10 out then install all the pistons and measure the highest one and deck accordingly.
same thing if you have to be zero deck. make sure you cut for the tallest piston.
also check the head gasket thickness. some are thinner than others. we use one from enginetech. it measures around 25 th when compressed as compared to the felpro thats usually 40 to 50th when compressed. buy several brands and install on an old block and head and pull it back off and check it.
keep in mind that an extra 20 th gained from the gasket is the same as milling your head an additional 20th.

just remember when doing this that if omething causes u to lose your timing belt kiss your valves and maybe your head goodbye
went through this and broke a really good head i have only stayed at 10 to 1 compression after that and had less trouble with motors
