Is there any advantages or disadvantages running the stock power steering?

Disadvantage heavy in the wrong spot, takes a few hp. Advantages for my dad is a lot he drives so much smoother since he hooked his up. I personally do not like it as I can not feel what the car is wanting to do as well. But it is a lot easier to turn. Bobby

Reason I'm asking,I run with three brakes wondering how that would help if and when I find trouble.

The problem I had was trying not to over correct. I personally like the big ole steering wheel and a quickener. Just my .03 BObby

i put a racing power steering pump on my mustang with a quickener ,i feel that a little amount of weight such as power steering cant effect that much. i think the power steering is great, when you hit a rut and can correct with out backing out of the gas,
thats just my opinion

As far as on the track with or without power steering my car feels jsut as easy to steer without the power steering as it did with, th thing about the power steering is that it is extremly easy to over correct adn get in a bind, you also gain horse power is your not running a power steering pump.

No Power steering here... Very easy to control on the track... And I can use all the power to the wheels that I can get!

Doesn't sound like there is much advantage with power steering. I have looped the lines on my rack and pinion. What size would you recommend for the steering wheel?

If you decide to go with power steering, A stock chevy s-10 power steering pump, is exactly like a racing pump, You will have to build a mount and hoses though.
