the main reason im looking for one is becouse everytime i get in a pretty good wreck, it always cracks.
and plus if all the stuff inside that aluminum bellhousing comes apart. that aluminum isnt gonna hold it in their to well.
and i dont know about you but i kinda like my feet.. steel just seems like the best way to go to me. but as far as the hp goes thats far from the problem....lol

I have not found any one that makes a steel bellhousing for a 2.3. Big E makes a shield that goes outside the bellhousing but I don't think it will fit under stock floor pan. It is made for tube chassis.
Hey MAWEENIE if you have ever had or seen a fly wheel or clutch blow up you would see why you need one.

in 7 years of racing I have never seen nor heard of it happening in a 4 cylinder class. I have had the bolts come loose from the flywheel to the crank but nothing else broke and have had the main shaft in the trans snap in half but nothing else happened that time either, sorry... I would still try racerwelsh or esslinger.they seem to have everything else

We seen one come apart at Lawrenceburg funfest last month. Sounded like the engine exploded, parts strewn all down the frontstretch. Come to find out, it was the something in the clutch/flywheel area. Looked at it afterwords and there was nothing left of the bell housing at all !!The ring gear came off the flywheel also. It cut the brakebooster in half and put lots of dents in the hood and firewall. Luckily no one was hurt. If I remember right, it was a Nissan or Toyota.
