Do not spin her but bump pass her going into the corner just give a nudge and go under not really what I call ethical but if she is cheating then all is fair. That gets dangerous. Also set her up with the high low if she goes in high go in low and she will come down and you can go up and pass her. good luck BObby

I had a guy do that to me with a clip on baby mirror. I got blocked for 5 laps and got frustrated ... my car was a lot faster than his so I pushed him down half of the straight and he pull out and almost hit the wall. He did not run in the feature.
Not ethical... but....

In the fwd class at West Plains Motor Speedway the same thing happen to me . I could out run the guy but everywhere I went he was there first. I was so fustrated I told the tech man. He dident do a thing ..So next race I told the owner if they dident remove the mirror I would. So it was gone and It was so funny watching him. He would turn his head to look. He is driving better without it tho, He was spending to much time in the mirror instead of what was in front of him. He is a safer driver now.

what you should have done was to take the line{hi or low}that your car was "working"the best at and kept faking to the side that your car was not working the best at,if they had a mirror and you did this for 2 or 3 consecitive turns, they would be anticipating your move and and move that way to block you, then you coud get the line you needed on them and make your pass and leave 'em in your dust!!!

Dont they allow mirrors in NASCAR?? i know thats ALOT different than dirt track but do different tracks have rules prohibiting mirrors?

I dont see anything in the rules at our local track prohibiting using any type of mirror or reflective device...

I do know that the last guy that was blocking cars got wrecked BAD.. he had a slower car but he got in front and would swerve back and forth all the way around the track and finally people got ****ed and smacked the rear of his car while he was swerving thru a turn.. he rolled his car like 4 times and got hurt pretty badly and never came back to the track and no one got in trouble for wrecking him. (he got what he deserved) was what most people (racers and fans) said about it...

but as for mirrors wouldnt that just be a safety device to see if someone was going to come up and hit your rear end??

(if you cant tell im very new to all of this.. i love watching races and now im finally building a car to race (im 21) to maybe have some fun... I dont want to ever be accused of cheating or be wrecked just because i win so any tips on race track ethics would be appreciated

thx
David

Yes nascar allows it but here is my opinion it is a good safty device to see if you are clear but people would use them to much and loose there head and start blocking and then again someone would get!@#$ed and wreck him/her. I also feel that not having one takes a strain off of the driver as he only then has to worry about who is in front of them. Just my .02 BObby

In Nascar they are running 200 mph . Cant really be guessing if someone is beside you before you move!!

On dirt at most tracks we dont go all that fast and after driving without a mirror for so long ..You have the sence of where other cars are and when to or not to make a move. Not like it is all that bad to be rubbed or pushed on dirt. I would rather look in front than behind me anyday....

Personally... I don't worry about cars behind me.. only in front of me... I let the people behind me worry about me! I have hit a few trying to pressure me, but it is the responsibility of the person passing to do it cleanly.

Looking in front of you gets pretty boring when you are in the lead. Which is where I am for about the 1st lap of every race, HA (they put the slow cars up front) anyways.

The ? I have is... Since I am not one of the fastest cars at the track, I do block and drive in a way which would make it hard for them to pass me. Like if they are on my right rear going into the turn, I wont turn as early as I normally would into the turn to force them to back off. I dont use a mirror or anything. Thats not so bad right?

I guess they could realize what I am doing after one turn and figure out a way to counter the block, GOD I LOVE RACING.

what you are doing is racing. Blocking comes in when you use a mirror and get stupid. BObby

b4 has the right idea i've seen alot of guys block so we just push them down the shoot then they can't handle the turn and crash or push real bad and it's not dirty driving if you lift before you get into the corner i do it all the time because we start by point average low man is up front and i always seem to start in the 3rd row for some reason so i push the first two rows and let them take each other out lol
