we had the whole lower control arm and frame ripped out of our mustang. I rebuilt it but goofed I moeved the mount 1.5 inches back so i shortened the control arm to realign the rear. but i goofed again and moved the mount about 3/4 inch high so the control arm goes up hill from the rear to the frame. this has created a very loose condition. what i need to know is if i move the mount hole down will this take care of the problem or should i repalce the control arm and move the moune forward also. . when he steps on the gas the rear actually moves backward. when the car sets. thanks. my email is yabba48@yahoo.com

IT IS THE LOWER CONTROL ARM ON THE REAR ON THE RIGHT. WHEN THE CAR SETS THE BODY DROPS AND THE REAR MOVES BACK.

will the front lower control arm from a t bird directly fit in the mustang?
and also should you replace both sides to prevent any weight changes

I would not replace both sides I would only do the right side and replace the rubber bushings.. BObby

One more question I need a reference point to measure from to set the trailing arm . Would the ball joint be a good starter?

RUSS,
CHECK THE 86 AND 87 THUNDERBIRDS. SHOULD BE ABOUT 1 OR 2 INCHES LONGER THEN A STANG. ONLY DO THE RIGHT SIDE. IF YOU DO THE LEFT IT PULLS THE TPO OF TIRE IN TO FAR(CAN'T ADJUST ENOUGH)

thanks guys I got it fixed he won his heat and finished 5th in the feature. Told me it was the best so far this year. Another freind of mine also suggested I string the car. to get the rear straight. Again Thanks for the info and help.
