Hay there I got a 82 corolla for my kid to race and need to find the right gear for a 3/8 track, the car has a 5 speed.
I had her run 2nd last night and the car looked real slow, she said she was pushing 6000 rpm on the strait. do you think 3rd gear would be to tall ? and where can I find the trans. ratios

thanks Hollywood

I have limited knowledge of these but this is what I know they are a momentum car that means if you let out of the gas much at all you are going to slow down and it will take a bit to get it back up to speed. I drove his one race and had it handling where I did not have to let out any I turned it 7000 and I stayed infront of cars that had some work done to them. Does you class have a weight rule if not get that car as light as possibly safe. With a completly stoc 3tc I have been told that 6700-6800 is it and that is about when I felt it just flatten out. good luck BObby
