Took the car out on a 4/10 mile track and I am in luv! Nice long shoots and tight turns man I hooked up nice.
However, it would only go to 6500 RPM so I was running half throtle all night, half way down the shoot and....... no moe go.
Just put a new 500 holly on it,plugs are running light brown,I backed off the timing from +36 to +28 and it helped a bit but I want to run at 7500. I am also running a locked down stock dist with both springs.I also have an electric tack, a short perhaps?

roller cam solid lift, springs came with the cam, no rev limiter.
I thought it was the carb so I bought a brand new one 500 holly. Not sure what presures on the springs.

Running a Geo Metro motor?????( hint hint you never said what motor it is) Does the car start running poorly, or just won't run that high of a rpm?? There are so many variables here. What cam? We need a bunch more info? And why are you trying to run a 500 cfm carb? **** , we run a 2.3 8200 rpm on a .5 mile......??

DUH! sorry guys,it,s 2350,150 off the head with a roller,500 holly.
I left it at a friends house last week close to the track but I will check the moduale in the dist , I have no fuel pressure gauge but I will check it by reving in the garage next time I go.
Had the flu this week so I didnt even touch it.
It,s like a refresher course in here, thanks guys for being patient. Got to remember ,I have been on the shelf for 15 yrs.

pull your breather, rev it up and see if the carb is syphoning gas out of the pump discharge nozzle. the holleys are notorious for a problem call "pullover" at higher rpm.
you'll see it happen at the same rpm if you look carefully. and dont forget the eye protection.
