Hi I'm new to getting into racing myself but have helped build a few race cars, just not in this class, and this is the one I'm interested in. I've re4searched the little motor enough to feel that I have a solid start and support But any more technical advise is more than welcome. I'd race at Lonestar Speedway (If I spend enough money on the motor) and Rosebowl raceway if it turns out "decent" . Again any help is appreciated, I'll be able to respond Monday night.

Thanks for the reply, I've done some research and found that the 2.2l kinda evolved into the 2.5, Same "fast burn" head same part# for the cams etc.The only cam so far I have found with a part number has been .501in lift.Does that sound like enough for a 1/2 mile track? I'll use the stock 5spd and am curious if gear ratio matters that much with 5 gears to choose from?

gearing is everything. I do not know exactly what kind of gear you would want to run but I believe you do not want to turn it more than 6000 I believe. but again that is just what i have been told. KSGerry I bet could help you if he gets on here. any who good luck Bobby

I suggest you acquire the Mopar manual "2.2-2.5 FWD" available from your dealer or from Mopar on-line (sorry, no website information). This book will give you specific build information for the engines, transmissions and building a mini or Pro-4 modified using a Mopar chassis.

Two good websites to check are... www.allpar.com www.turbododge.com

I do have a mid-80s Dodge Charger mini along with several engines for sale in the "Race Cars, For Sale" forum. The ad is a little dated as I put it in there about a month ago. Send me an email and I'll send you back the specifics along with a Win-Zip photo file of the car and engines. The Mopar 2.2-2.5 FWD book is included in the sale.
