Our local track has a "Hornet" class for stock 4-cyl cars, so I'm thinking about buying/building a car & giving it a try.

However, their rules require "Passenger car tires", I've clarified with the tech inspector that the rule means no D.O.T. race tires, no snow tires, and no mud tires. So, any advice on what tires work?

well I have about 12 or 13 of them I would set you up with reasonably they are mainly multi mile brand Grand ams but some are different. They come with rims and most are fairly new. If you are interested just pm me. THey are all 14's from 195 up to 235 all 60 series tires. Later BObby

Thanks for the advice! One other point - the wheels and tires both have to be stock size for the model, trim-level, and year of the car. So I'll have to see what size I need, then check what's available.

I have heard that the cheaper tires are the way to go as they use softer rubber. I just like these because of the warrenty. Later BObby

if you must run a street tire, check out what the winners are using,go buy some new ones just like them, then go get them "BUFFED"and mount 'em up and race 'em,the buffing will kinda get them SOFTER then unbuffed tires, and give you an edge on the rest!!
