I don't get on this forum too often, but I've been running a Dodge Omni in our U-Car class for the past two years.

What do you want to know? The Omni is a good package if you are restricted to American made cars. Otherwise I would look at the VW Rabbit, Sirocco, or a Honda.

Good luck

Thanks for the reply. I am racing a Ford Escort GT. It is my 1st year. Trying to figure out setup. Can you advise on tire pressure, etc?

I haven't been able to find a whole lot of information about how to set these FWD cars up for dirt track racing. What track are you running at? Dirt or asphalt? What are your tire rules?

I'm running a 3/8's mile dirt track. We have to run 195/60 DOT tires. No recaps. I started last year with tires pressures in the mid to low teens. I did a lot of work with tire temperatures throughout the season, and all the numbers pointed to getting the pressures up in the low to mid twenties. Here is what I'm running.

RF 24
LF 22
RR 22
LR 20

Does anyone else have any experience in setting these FWD cars up to handle well on dirt?

Brad, what's going on man, haven't talked to you in a while. I scrapped the Omni due to too many mechanical problems, and we're in the process of finishing up the Le Baron now. MOPAR POWER!
