I am running a pinto, not sure what year but I think the middle model (with round headlights after 74 or 73). Would a 4 spd or a 5 spd have a lower 2nd gear? How do I tell what kind of rear end I have and How do I see what gearing it is? I need to get more revs out of my little 4 banger somehow. Also, What gearing options are available for my car

find a non-overdrive fivespeed out of a 84 1/2 to 86 mustang SVO. they have real low first and second gears for road racing and are much stronger and lighter. it also depends what rear gears your running. ask around and see what everyone else is running. my friend runns a fast 4cyl ford and he has parts for sale to make it faster

my friend has the whole car for sale 2600.00 with no rims tires or motor. 4sp tranny, adjustable suspension. it is actually built on a pinto chassis with a sheet metal latemodel body with a mustang front nose. strong, stiff cage very well built. it would probably been 1st or 2nd in points if i wouldnt have DQed him twice this year. his email is mgeorganna@hotmail.com he will know more about it
