Our track has just started a mini stock class, and I just happen to have a 63 Chevy II that is a basket case. They did come with a cast iron 4 didn't they?
I have sent off for the rules, but I would guess my Chevy wii not fit into the guide lines.
What would be the best choice of car to mini stock race? When I was in Texas a few months back,at the local track @ Alvin,Texas which is Texas Thunder Speedway the Toyotas seemed to be the choice. Any feedback or comments.

i wouldnt race anything but a mustang myself but that is just b/c i am more familiar with the mustang than anything else and they are pretty easy to find parts for.

A mustang or a pinto would be my choice. The over head cam makes it easier to work on than a 4 cyl chevy and it is alot less expensive than the toyota. Dont get me wrong I have seen some toyotas that really rip but the parts to make it go are not as available, and much more expensive than the american made cars. If money isnt an issue I would build a toyota myself but Im a budget racer and race competitively with my mustang and very happy with its performance.

I personally prefer Hondas. At my local track, the car of choice seems to be the Dodge Omni hatchback. Those guys make them scream!!! My CRX will be ready in less than 2 weeks!! I can't wait.

the pinto is most pop, but the stang is better for setup ,
your chevy 2 will have iron duke 4 cyl, too big for ministock at most tracks.
if fwd is what you want dodge omni is easy to setup. use the r/r to turn car and dont lift loose is better for fwd.
good luck

go with the coil spring rear and the stut mustang...they work perfect. you can use mod springs to set it up.
thats the way to go.
