IMHO, a one brrl carb will probably make the car very driveable, while idling around the pits, and it may be quite crisp and responsive on restarts etc, but I will guarantee it will not have the top end performance that either a 350cfm or a 500cfm 2bbl will have at high rpms.....once the 2bbls are built and dialed in properly that is.

okay, but is the, single barrel pulling the same amount or air and fuel in to the engine, except through one venturie and not two, and also wont it eliminate the lag that the 2 barrels have when you punch the gas and the secondaries opem

No way to answer that question unless you tell me WHAT 1bbl carb you are comparing to WHAT 2bbl carb. Typically, tho, the one brrl carbs don't flow as much and are smaller than almost any 2bbl out there.
Your comment about the "secondaries opening" has me thinking you are talking about the progressive 2bbl carb (OEM style on some foreign cars) that is FAR different from what the vast majority run as 2bbls.
The Holley 2bbl carbs are not a progressive 2bbl style carb and when set up properly for the application, will not have a "bog", "lag" or "stumble".

So...to answer your question....no, the one brrl carbs do not flow as much air or fuel as a 2bbl carb....normally....but there are many 1bbl carbs that are designed for racing that DO flow a lot of air/fuel....but we ain't talkin' about them I don't think...:-).

Hope that helps,
KPLugnut.

50 is refering to the stock carbs that come on 2.3 liters. Like the ones WISSOTA mod 4s are required to run.
