I have moved on to another car that I might be interested in. One question. The seller says that the car weighs 2450 with him. How can I easily loose the extra 150 pounds? I have not seen the car as it is several hours away. How hard will it be to loose the pounds? I know that I can loose some by getting rid of the sheet metal boxing in the interior. Any other suggestions?

if the hood and trunk arent gutted out you can lose a good 150lbs right there, along with the post in between the front and back door windows it also makes it easier to get in and out of the car (if your a big boy like me)

Unfortunately I have not seen the car yet since it is several hours away and I am trying to do my homework before wasting my time. The owner says that the trunk and hood is gutted. I have not had a chance to ask about whether it has been acid dipped or subsequently sandblasted. The interior is boxed in so that could account for some weight, but I cannot imagine how much.

I am trying to decide if I should keep fishing or cut bait on this car. Any ideas?

Thanks

How much weight would a plastic or fiberglass bumper and nose save? Where do I get them?

HOW MUCH ARE YOU GIVING FOR THE CAR?
DO YOU WANT A STOCK OR A MODIFIED CAR?
HOW MUCH ARE YOU LOOKING TO SPEND ON A CAR?

Thanks for the info.

Price has not been set yet. Depends on if the seller gets his heart right.

Is it allready a racecar? Or is it just a stripped car someone started to make into a racecar?

It is already a race car. The guy weighs 210 so it is about 2240 without driver based on the info I have gotten from him. He is not certain of weight. I suppose that I would like for it to be 2120-2130 without driver so that it would be 2300 with me. If his numbers are correct, I need to loose a litte more than 100 lbs. Looks like part will be in the nose and bumper. More could be lost with undercoating although I am not sure how this would work with a complete car. Would muratic(sp?) acid work? Ideas?

He also says that there is some removal left around the fenders and wheel wells. Like I said, I have not gone to see the car since I am 5 hours away, but I plan on it if I get comfortable that I have not wasted a trip.

I am not set on this car by any means so if you know of any I am listening. I want a complete car as I do not have too much time to get it ready. If it is less motor, I can get one built.

As always, thanks for the input.
