Standard shift trans. are they effective?If so is any gears "taken out".of the tranny?

in the ministock class. if your running an automatic your probably going slow. remember it is not a V8. it does not have the horse power to pull the Torc converter. think of it, the converter fills with fluid it makes for a 40 pound flywheel or more. compare that to an average flywheel that weighs in at about 19 or 20lbs. half the weight that you don't have to pull. and no you don't have to take gears out of the tranny. if you do, you would have to add spacers which add up to almost as much weight not making much difference at all, just a waste of time. hope this helps. Not only the weight but the lost horse power from not being locked together. More power to the wheels, and trust me you guys need all the power you can get
