Front drive cars are actually very quick. Front drive cars dominate many tracks up north. The setup is much different than a rear car, and you have to drive them differently, but once you figure it out, there just as fast, sometimes faster than rear drive. Fishtailing, or sliding the rear is not the fastest way around the track. When your loose your spinng tires and wasting time.

we have a dodge that runs with us in mod 4 that is very quick . the track has to be dry so he can hook up . if it's bad slick he just loads up and goes home .he goes into the corner deep then then gasses it and it pulls him on around . front wheel drives are quick off the corners .here in alabama they run the stock front wheel drives with the stock v8 class and they still hold their on .won't let them run with stock 4 class .from what i hear it's hard to learn to drive a front wheel drive

i drove a front-wheel drive car on a 1/4 mi. high banked dirt oval for the past 2 years. Our whole class was FWD.(factory-stocks,Macon Speedway,Macon,IL).My first year i ran all but the last 3 weeks in an '89 pontiac sunbird(2.0L),it finally blew up and i switched to and won the points championship in an '86 cavalier z-24(2.8L). This past year i got second in points to my brother, who won the track championship.we were both in z-24's this year, and they rock!

I ran a VW Scirocco on the asphalt for about 5 years and hardly anything could keep up. It is very different to set up and drive but they can be very fast.
