What type of bellhousing do you need to have for a bert trans? Do people run regular flexplates and block mounted starters or rear mount starters with special flexplates? Brian

we run a bert bellhousing with rear mount starter which runs through a spring loaded idler gear to a small diameter drive plate/ring gear with dry sump pump belt pulley built in.
as far as i know, the bert g/box is the same bolt pattern and input shaft dimensions as a standard gm box. so you should be able to use a standard bell housing and flex plate and drive flange with a block mounted starter.
