I RUN A 3000# STREET STOCK AND THE TRACK I PLAN TO RUN JUST OUTLAWED MY REAR SUSPENSION...I WAS RUNNING A 4 LINK ON BIRDCAGES.....

BUT NOW I CAN RUN EITHER A MULTI LEAF OR MONO LEAF SUSPENSION WITH ELIMINATORS.....

I HAVE 2 WEEKS UNTIL THE SEASON STARTS...I DONT REALLY HAVE A CLUE AS FAR AS WHAT WEIGHT SPRINGS TO START WITH AND VERY LITTLE MONEY AT THIS POINT TO EXPERIMENT....BUT I HAVE A SALVAGE YARD FULL OF PARTS....

I HAVE TO RUN STOCK LEAF SPRING MOUNTS IN FRONT OF THE REAR END AND I CAN RUN AFTER MARKET MOUNTS BEHIND....GUTTING IS ALLOWED AND TYING THE FRAMES TOGETHER IS LEGAL..SO PRETTY MUCH I HAVE TO WELD A STOCK CAMARO MOUNT ON A ROUND TUBE AND GO FROM THERE....THE CAR IS AN UNDERSLUNG CAR WITH AFCO FLOATER REAR END....I HAVE ON IT NOW A 5TH ARM ALUMINUM BIRD CAGES AND A LONG J-BAR..

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

converting from a 4-bar to a leaf is not as difficult or costly as it seems....start with 30lb springs and go from there, since your car is a bit heavier then a lm...you might want to go to a heavier spring...also..be prepared to know..your car will seem much easier to drive...but will not have near the roll it once did.

ACTUALLY I JUST BUILT THIS CAR AND HAVENT EVEN GOT TO RUN IT YET.....I DROPPED DOWN FROM A MODIFIED AND BOUGHT THIS CAR AND PUT IT TOGETHER....

IT STARTED OUT AS A 2001 GRT CAR BUILT WITH A STOCK STUB.....WE HAVE A WEIGHT RULE OF 3000# SO ITS GOT LEAD STACKED ON IT.....

THE RULE BOOK SAID WE HAD TO HAVE STOCK FRAME TO CENTER OF REAR END HOUSING AND STOCK LOWER TRAILING ARMS IN STOCK LOCATION ON THE FRAME SIDE.....MY CAR HAD THAT BUT I ALSO LEFT THE BIRDCAGES AND UPPER LINKS ON...AND NOW THEY HAVE TOLD ME I CANT RUN IT...

IS MONO LEAF FASTER THAN A MULTI LEAF....AND WE CAN ALSO RUN A SPRING BAR ON THE TOP OF REAR END BUT NO ADJUSTMENTS IN THE TRAILING ARMS OR THE 3RD LINK.....
