A lot of the late models at Hagerstown this weekend had their hood scoops angled so that the front was toward the left front corner. I was just wondering if anybody knew the reason for this?

when the hood scoop is turned to the right it would tend to add lift or want to unload the right side of the car making it loose. most teams angle the scoop to the left so when the wind hits the scoop it creates downforce on the left front and helps in keeping the left front planted or on the ground. its amazing how such little changes in things like a hood scoop make such a drastic difference.
