i have a new set of 180 deg.headers on my street stock. we have to run a stock hei dis. i wraped the headers and also bought a starter wrap to wrap the dis.with all the wrapping i did the heat still made the engine break up.the dis.was so hot i could not even touch it.if any one has any info to help me keep the dis. cool i would really apreaciate it.i spent about $200.00 on the headers and would really like to be able to use them.

hey jaydawg, we had same problem on a sportsman car and i simply got a piece of .060 aluminum, made a couple of quick breaks to fit the headers and made myself a shield! with this and the header wrap it helped alot!

I want to ditto the shield idea. I have been using 180 degree headers for 4 yrs with a shield and haven't had any problems. Just make a bracket that will bolt down to the last hole on each side of the intake. Good luck.
