If a D55 last as long as you say it does then why do the guys i race with have new ones on every week??? Because a new tire is faster than a used tire. When the edges are gone on any tire no matter the compound the tire loses its pulling power.D55 tire rule is a big joke!!! No durometer at a track to check tires, then why run them.

If you know guys with new tires every week I'd like to buy their old ones.

You should be able to get more than one race an a D55. If guys are not then they don't have the right setup and they are burning up the tires. Tire temperature can greatly decrease the life span of a tire- you need heat but not too much.

We run a gumbo track that hardly ever gets dry in the Mississippi Dealta.Last year was the first year with a Latemodel for us.We baught a complete set of 55's and a couple spares and ran the whole season with them.We won 6 features,2nd four times, and 1 fifth place. The weekly competition was pretty strong. All we did was each week lightly grind the tire contact patch. Our time trials from week to week didn't get any slower,so i think the tires were still working pretty good.A few of the guys were on new rubber each week.Im sure on dryslick and rubbered up tracks it would be a different story though.
