i have a toterhome we made out of a satalite news truck. the box was already there then just added new inside walls, plywood, and carpet floors.
in MO i had to add a bed, fridge, table, air conditioning unit, generator, seats, microwave to get it licensed as a rv. its still not 100%done, also anchor down everything.
check with your highway patrol on rules and regs to get it licensed as a rv in your state.
also i seen on your profile your from ark i think, i got some stuff from colaws rv salvage in carthage mo, that is far south mo almost kansas.(bottom corner). they have alot of stuff to fix it up at a decent price.

One of my customers has built 4 hauler/toterhomes,I have helped in the fabrication, skinning&finishing of three of them.We use 3"channel&marine grade plywood for a deck. The box itself is framed with 14ga.1&1/4 square tubing. The outside is .40 aluminum, then the inside is spray insulated & lined with either aluminum or paneling. He gets the ascessories ie.seats, toilet, shower, etc.from a camper surplus place. These are first class units ,but anyone with good fab. skills could build a decent one. There is a picture of the first one on his web site. www.djrepair.com I would be glad to give more info if you'd like on this site ,or message me

you may try to buy a used box and renovate it, my truck came with the box, and it is all aluminum framing, and like 1/8thick skin so it wont wave like the thin aluminum will. you may save some money by getting a used box. worth checking into.
i could not buy the metal for mine for less than what the box cost.
