Anybody ever took a swing out door type setup and put a ramp door on. I would like to hire someone to do this but have not found any serious takers. I am a decent chassis fab guy but am not much of a carpenter.

I was talking to Steve Shannon at SCS Fabricating about this very thing. I am going to get a trailer that has swings on it and I want a ramp door. He said it would cost maybe $1500 for what I want to do. I'm not sure what your trailer is, but he said he was probably estimating a little high, meaning it probably wouldn't cost that much, he just couldn't be totally accurate without the trailer in front of him. I think I will do my own. Steve said to use 2" square around the perimeter and 1 1/2" square for the internals of the ramp so that when you put down the plywood, it will be recessed behind the frame and the edges would not be subject to catching on things. I am going to start on mine this summer in my "spare" time.
