What are your guy's preference for brand and or series of connecting rod and main bearings? I see some different sealed power #'s listed along with Clevite series. Throw into the mix the no name ones that Speedway sells dirt cheap. If you have a favorite or one to stay away from could you please elaborate on if its good for one application and horrible for another. Thanks, Jim

The ones speedway sells I put in stock crank stock rod applications.King bearings Midwest motorsports sells is middle of the road stuff.Personally I have used Clevite 77 and the other 2 I metioned.I prefer the King bearings but I am trying a set of clevites again in my stroker.I will be taking it apart this winter to see how the clevites held up. thats my 2 cents.

im using the speedpro's. FEM-2555cp rod bearings. FEM-4663M Main Bearings. FEM-1235M Cam bearings. Good Stuff When using a 10/10 GM Crank and X-rods. Now if i had the extra money for Eagle Crank and Rods i'd prolly buy the higher dollar Clevite bearings and durabond coated cam bearings.

I've used the Clevite H series, Federal Mogul performance series and the King performance bearings. The only ones I've ever had fail were a set of Clevite's. And they didn't really fail, just wore after a year.

On a budget motor, the King SI series (not the performance ones) on the mains and performance series on the rods is a cheap way out. King's bearings are as good or better than the Clevite or Federal offerings in my experience/opinion. Saving $25 on a set of performance bearings is a nice side benefit too.
