I've got a 750 carb with a lower left bowl screw stripped. The threads are pulled ro th main body. What's the most economical way of fixing this? Heli coil? What's the size?

#12x24 machine screw thread. Helicoil kits available all over, such as MSC, McMaster, Travers Tool, etc etc.

Hope that helps,

KP

KPlugnut,

DO you have em, My local store has 10/24 but no 12-24. and they want $60. This stock 750 ain't worth $60. Summit want's $85.

I stock the stuff in bulk, as far as the actual helicoils go, yes. If you sent us the body of the carb, I'd fix it for ya for like $5 plus return shipping.
Or, more economically, just go to www.mscdirect.com and get a helicoil tap for that size, and then buy bulk helicoils from 'em. Or just buy the kit thru your local NAPA store the first time, and then buy the helicoils online.

Just let me know how I can help.
