Which carb is better? A completely redone Rochester, or a completely redone Holley 4412? Which will outperform the other one both top end and bottom end?

Thanks

What are the rules as to what can/can't be done to the carbs? therein lies the answer as to which to choose.

No rules. Open carb rule. Nothing measured or teched.

I would go with neither if there is no carb rule.

If the only rule is that it has to be a 2bbl, then Holley by all means. But NOT a "regular" 4412 at all. Something along the lines of a builder's "outlaw style" carb would fit the bill nicely. Some are based on 4412 bodies, others on 6425 bodies.
Some have tried split dominators but then you're into the area of "bigger isn't always best".
The point here is that a highly modified Holley 2bbl will always be more user friendly, versatile and non-temperamental compared to anyone's modified Rochester 2G.
If ya need more info on how we build 'em, just ask.
