Next year will be my first full year in a mod and i am wondering if the extra money for a high end alky carb is worth it? I run a 750 holley hp worked good last year but would it have been worth it to spend 600 more to get a littal extra horse?

Not a smart thing at all to spend that much $ when you can get the one you have improved by a good carb specialist for much much less.

Ask around (not just here, but anywhere) if we're up to the task.

If it's your first year in a mod, seat time and chassis tuning will probably be more effective. If you still want the carburetor to work better, I would give JDR Performance a call. We bough a new one and had our 750 HP reworked. Both work great. We've also used their 4412 carburetor on the sportsman and loved it.
