Getting ready to put together my first 2.3 ford. Can someone tell me how to make sure I put it all in time correctly please. thanks also is there anything else that I need a heads up on thats differnt on these 2.3. I have put together several 350 chevys lol

Have you shaved the head a bunch or is it stock? Easy way is crank at TDC, #1 cam lobes straight across (use a flat plate and measure to the valve cover base, Distributor to #1.......

It has been shaved a decent amount not sure how much. So the lobe will be strait across even if its a like a 468/ 482 lift

Yeah, Just lay a 2" wide by 8 inch long piece of aluminum across the intake and exhaust lobe.

no do not use a flat piece if your cam has different lifts for the exhaust and intake that will get you in trouble. I would use a degree wheel and set it up right. I think Racer walsh has a video on this. Later Bobby
