I had a guy tell me that the hypereutectic pistons would not hold up long running in an alcohol motor is there any truth to that? Are you better off to spent the extra money for the forged pistons? what exactly happends to make the hypers not last as long? Thanks

They are basically cast aluminum and just won't take as much abuse as forged pistons. Many have made the mistake of running incorrect ring gaps, causing the top of the piston to break off after the gaps close. If installed correctly, they will do OK, but not as well as forged pistons. For another $200 you can get a set of lightweight Manley 2618 forged pistons.
