I've heard rumors that the RH dipstick (newer) engines are a lot weaker castings - can anyone verify this? If they are weaker is a 4 bolt main RH stronger then a 2 bolt main LH or complete junk?

I'm running the newer style block for two years now. Four bolt mains, freshened over the winter. Spinning the daylights out of it, and no problems ,,,,yet.

Some are weak in the lifter valley.

Racerman is right they are weaker in the lifter valley. As for the dipstick i never use one. Most good oil pans have a stick or some sort of site plug to see the fill level
