unless they are really fast moths, i would find this highly unlikely.
just an old wives tale.
if that was the case you would be able to purchase moth balls in bags labled with lunati/miloden/comp/crane etc. and bloomquist & kinser would be running them.

I believe rocket over looked two rather large and important points when it comes to moth balls.

1. They will keep moths from eating car when stored over winter.
2. They give the car a rather distinctive smell.

Other than that, no benifit for racing.

The myth remains from years past when moth balls were made of a material also used in the production of higher octane. EPA took care of that.

If I remember right, you can weigh them and multiply this sum by the number of naptha content/purity to calculate a volumetric figure.

This figure will vary according to atmospheric conditions particularly barometric pressure as opposed to humidity. This variance is not crucial unless you need an exact octane value.

After you have obtained a volumetric figure calculated from the weight/content ratio formula, you can............Wait a minute, did you say you have MOTHballs?...........How did you get the legs apart to get'em?

In Karts we would take cotton balls and soak em in nitro and tape them up in the gas tank lid and tank area and allow the slosh to mix the nitro into the alky.

Worked as long as the tech guys teched before you went out, not after LOL.

I've also heard of that Krom! Also heard of soaking the air filter in nitro.
