Believe I may have to relace the heads in my engine. Curerently running Vortecs.

So a couple of questions. If you had your choice between Dart, Vortec, Bowtie, World Products, etc, which would choose? (Any 23 degree cast iron cylinder head allowed. No porting, polishing, or port matching allowed. No aluminum. No raised runner heads.)

Also, any reason why I couldn't use the valves currently in the Vortec in the new set?

Thanks

I've heard the Dart Iron Eagles (especially the new design) are the best bang for the buck. If they're 2.02/1.6 valves, don't see why they couldn't be used. I'd stay away from stock vortecs as you've seen they crack. I believe GM is coming out with a heavy casting vortec. Although I'd still take a set of 200 or 215 cc Iron Eagles over the 170 cc port vortecs.

I just got a set of Dart 200cc Platinums for 1055.00. The machine shop ordered bare heads and install better valves, larger springs, made sure the valve guides were the same size, and made sure the valve job was correct. He had to touch up a few areas that were off, as always on an assembly line product.
