Wanting to run a 377 on gas. From previous experience, those 400 blocks are hard to keep cool on gas. Would it be better to have a single core / big tube alum rad compared to a double row? I can't remember but I thought there was something about air and surface area cooling where the multiple cores were not always the best way to go? Any opinions well appreciated.

Go with the double row aluminum rad... What you are refering to is on four row copper/brass units.

Thanks. So is that why they used to stuff 4 cores into brass/copper rads a long time ago?

Well, back in the day...... They thought that was what it took to create superior cooling. Of coarse more recent testing has proved that to be wrong. Now dont get me wrong, I'm not saying that a 4 core copper/brass rad wont cool better than a 2 or 3 core copper/brass rad., cause they do, just not as well as the big two row aluminums.
