we have to run oem or replacement rods,"I" beam, no cap screws. I have now blown my third motor due to rod failure. 355, flat top, max. 10.8:1, turning only 6600 rpm. Any suggestions on bullet proof rods?

Yeah, run a Ford instead of Chevy. You can use stock rods to turn 6600 rpm.

Eagle "SIR" rods and a good balance job and it will last forever.

Any good GM Re-Built Rod with good bolts should hold past 6600. My suggestion is to get a set of the SIR or the Scat I Beams and balance everything. My stock rodded motor turns 7200 whenever I race it, and it has about 25 shows on it, so either your rods arent' being re-built right or something in the assembly process isn't right.

sounds like building problems to me..get a set of rods out of the newer chevy engines, they are a dime a dozen and stronger than x and pink rods,,but like they said a balanced engine is alot more durable than not balanced..

As an FYI, you can get 5.94" pm rods through GM as well. You can get them through Jim Pace.
