What is the maximum practical compression when running alky? Is the sky the limit?

I know the sb2.2's run upwards of 17 to 1, i would imagine there is apoint to where the returns on upping the compression is not to good and is not worth it.

Just remember the more the compression, the more the stress is on the lower end components. Stk Blk's i would be scared of anything over 14 to 1.

You are best with around 13:1-15:1 range. The higher compression creates more heat which will give a better burn rate with the alky. You also want to run flattops if you can. No more dome than about .150". Also for better burn rate. Alky does not burn as easilly as gas.

I was just wandering... I have never read about it, or heard it being discussed. You always hear about various gas's octane ratings. I just wanted to know its limits. BTW, does alky have an octane rating, or is it rated another way???
