I just blew a 351w and can't find another one. I do have access to a 351c. What are the differences in these engines. The Windsor is an extremely tight fit in my Granada. Will the Cleveland fit? Will it bolt up to the 3 spd. tranny? I also may have access to a 302. Will my 351 w heads work on this engine? Has anyone tried to put a 351c in a Granada? Any help is greatly appreciated.

the 351c is wider than 351w and they don't share the same bolt pattern for the tranny so it wont work . but the 302 would fit your transmision and is quite smaller and about 60 pounds lighter .

the head from your 351w should work on the 302 ( i think you need special bolts for that . and i also think it have bigger combustion chamber so you would loose compression )

good luck fixing your car

the bolt pattern on the clevland and the windsor are the same the 351m has a different bell housing pattern. Also the clevland will not hold the rpms the windsor block will.I would run the 302 or the 351w.Heads are same except 351 heads have half inch head bolts. 302 has 7/16 head bolts.

dirtpoor is right one the bolt patern and the moter mounts fit also. a cleveland engine is a direct bolt in for the windsor but the modifed 351 and 400 use the big block bellhousing. if the 351c will fit i would use it. there is less performance parts than the 351w but in stock form the 351c will make more power due to larger valves and bigger port runners. the only upgrade i would recomend on the 351c is a new cam. this will produce monsterous hp and tq at 3k to 7k rpms. if the 351c will not clear the fenders use the 302 w/ 351w heads. mill the 351w heads to regain your compression ratio. 351w usualy have bigger valves than 302w but not always, definatly check before just bolting them on. if you need the overall 351c dimension let me know, i have two. one of which is in a '69 mustang, so i think it will fit your car.
