Does any one have any ideas how to solve a overheating problem? I fattened it up, water wetter, I am putting a 17" with different shroud for this weekend but just trying to find out what you guys do for this.

Thanks,
J.D

is you top flex hose colapsed? We ran hot and found that the spring popped out and gathered in the radiator. Changed the hose to a solid 1 & 1/4th roll bar tube. No issues now.

Also make sure any air coming into the nose can only go thru the radiator. RUN A GOOD SHROUD!!! Make sure your fan is half way in and half way out of the shroud.

run a restrictor, or gut out a thermostat.

check your timing, maybe it is off slightly.

Just a few thoughts.

I run a 406, 1 to 1 pulleys, no thermostat, good, tight, radiator shroud, fan half in, half out, plastic nose with no openings, four inch peice of plastic on bottom of radiator mount the width of radiator. The fan is a 15 inch six blade steel fan (a four blade will pull more air). The temp guage got to 210 one night this summer.

and whats the issue...?? 210 ?? thats more or less within the 'perfect' area to run an engine. the 180-210 is commonly acceptable. when ya hit 235 - 250 then start to be concerned..

I just bought a new shroud and 17" fan....hopefully that works. I cheaked the hoses and thermostat housing, put holes in the front, but just trying to see if there is trick that I haven't already tried.

Thanks,
J.D

Not sure what engine your running but When we first started racing we had some of the same problems. We ended up running hoses from the front water inlet on the engine to the back of the intake. This lets water get to the back a little better. sure did help us.

You running gas or alky.
