For the past 3 weeks I have had difficulty getting rpm's during the heat races. It would just bog down. After 4 or 5 laps it would clear up and the motor would be strong. This past week there was about an 850 rpm difference when it cleared up. I noticed I have air bubbles coming in through the fuel filter up by my carb (pressure side). It is most noticable when I rev the motor up. The line appears to be good all the way back to the fuel cell (I have another filter back there). The line isn't near anything hot. Has anybody seen this before? Could the pump be doing this? It's a hobby stock motor with a stock pump.

Check the pickup tube in the fuel cell. Had that problem last year. You may also want to make sure the cell is venting properly. If it is not, you could have those same symptoms.

I agree with the fuel cell pick up tube. For a quick check you could pull the line off of the fuel cell and stick it into a can of gas. Then run the car and see if it changes. If it don't then it is either the line, pump or carb. Magic 82

Alky will eat the bulkhead fitting in the tank, check it for pin holes.
