Im running a 383 13:1 engine it usally gets up to 210 in the heat races 8 laps
and has recently gotten up to 250 in the last couple of 20 lap features. It seems to warm up slowly not like a head gasket or cracked head or block, seems to lose about a 1/2 gallon of water each night, timing is set a 34 have tried any where from 32 to 36 same result in temp, installed new stewart water pump, new griffen rad still same result, have even tried a slower pulley on pump to reduce cavation, also have been running distilled water, pretty sure it is not the engine causing the problem previous engine did the same. When you come in and spray water on rad it cools down so i would think the rad and pump are working
any ideas? thanks
