The old piston speed formula's are becoming bypassed by lighter and lighter reciprocating part's. How much do your CP's weigh? As an example, my own personal engine, SB2.2 head's, 3.625" x 4.155", 6.040" rod, 393gram JE piston's, we turn 8,800rpm.

It would be hard for me to say i do know they were not the cheap ohs over 700$ maybe more i do not think they are as lite as yours mine also have a small dome i figure with the stroke of the engine it would be safe to turn 7800 to 8200 and it should live . thanks

You would be totally safe in the RPM range that you're talking about running in. As for muffler's, the Lobak's are junk. Of all the muffler's that we have ever tested on the dyno (engine and chassis), the Borla is the best. If my photo is on the web site for the muffler you're looking at, then it's not with my approval and would be false advertising. In our area we are required to run a muffler, but with no sound regulations. My brother build's the muffler's that I use (copy of the Borla short muffler).
