O.K. first off I have to run a 2 barrel carb and I have 2 intakes both are 4 barrel intakes one is high rise dual plane other is just single plane no high rise wich would you use? Other question is I read a book that says to put plugs in the coolant holes that are between the cylinders and drill a cople holes in the plugs says it strenghthens the block anyone tried this? Whats the best way to block off egr on intake?

As far as the intake goes, I'd go with the high-rise as it should have larger volume runners. I could be wrong, and I'm sure someone will correct me if I am.

As far as plugging the cooling ports, I have no idea.

For the EGR, I'd just make a flat plug out of some 1/8-3/16 steel and make a gasket for it.
Good Luck, Dave

as far as plugging the coolant holes it is more work than what you described you have to tap the holes then put in the plugs then have the deck surfaced after installing the plugs

but yes drag racers do it to strengthen the deck as well as slow down the water to help cool the motor (yes i know it sounds stupid but if it has more time in the block to absorb heat it also has more time in the radiator to cool off)

drive hard or drive home
