I am wanting to up my compression and i have a set of 601 305 heads sitting in the corner. I was wondering how much you can cut these without having to worry about water jacket etc. I am running flat tops with 462 double humps and due to a rule change everyone else is running.....supposedly small domes and double hump heads...so i am looking for more compression. I don't turn the engine over 5800 so i don't think the air flow will hurt me much.

Thanks

Crazy T, I don't think you want to mill those heads. Theirs not much their to mill. Your compression with flattops will be around 11.4 to 1. How much do you want? I run these heads to around 6 to 62 and they work fine. You need to 3 angle them and do some cleaning inside. If you really want them to work put a 1.88 valve and a 1.6 in them. My heads cost about 700 to have them done. But they run extremely hard. They flow better than most people thnk. If you want the number for the head builder just e-mail me at bmyer@gwtc.net. This guy has spent around 100 hours of flow bench time perfecting these heads. They are second to none.LOL
