I have larger than stock valve springs and 1.5 stamp steel long slot rockers (rules). The rockers where the ball sits, are just barly touching the top of the valve retainers.I can still get the valve adj.ok but it concerns me some.I checked the valve train geometry and the push rods are as close to perfect as I have seen it.Do I need longer valves? When it goes to break over to push on the valve to open it,it gains clearence imediatly.

If you have .050"-060" worth of spring shim's under your valve spring's, or if you can stand to be .050" tighter, you can buy .050" short assembly height keepers and remove your shim's. This will move the retainer down the valve and give you your clearance. You can change this without pulling the heads off the engine. It would be about your quickest fix.

OK, Sideways, now I understand... :-)
Yes, Steve is exactly right, and that's how I'd fix it, too. I doubt you have that many shims under the springs, tho...
PM me for more info...
