We run a limited mod class and have to run a 2 barrel 500 cfm carb, our choice was the Willy's. Lately we have had problems with when mashing the throttle the motor falls on its face for a second before it picks up rpms. This will happen at any rpm range, we tried rejetting up and down with no luck, the fuel pressure ( mechanical pump ) is holding at a constant 9 psi. No back firing from the carb or popping from the headers.
Any ideas?

I'd call Willy's and speak with them. Unless your running alcohol, 9lbs of fuel pressure is about 3.5 - 4 lbs too high for a Holley 2bbl on gas.

Is the accelerator pump arm loose on the cam? Mine was falling on its face like you're saying yours does. I took out all of the play and it made it snappy again.
