polish the bearings.if you cant do that to get wht you need you will have to go with a undersize bearing..we have always been able to polish with emery cloth to get the clearance we need..

I would advise you not to use any type of abrasive on the bearings, heres why. Bearimgs are made up of either two or three "layers", the layer that contacts the crank is a very soft alloy and you will embed abrasive material in this layer using this method. This will cause very premature wear to the crank and cause loss of oil pressure. A better fix would be to line hone the block or polish the crank or go undersize.

i have to clarify my first post,DO NOT USE EMERY CLOTH TO POLISH,i wasnt paying attention when i posted that late last night, what i meant to use to polish is scotch bright,it will not hurt anything and gets the best finish nor will it wear out anything.we put out about 30 motors a year.now depending on what your clearences are at now you may need to get undersized bearings but if you are relatively close take my advice and polish the bearing with scotch brite and get your clearence.be careful when doing it as a little polishing goes a long way!
