Hi all, wanted to bounce this off the forum. Fired motor last nite for first time. At first it wasn't getting any spark, unpluged the tach and it fired up. Same tach as last yr. What do you think? Thanks, Race

Tach is grounded. Last year we had a car that would not get over 3500rpm when we replaced everything in the ignition path it went after we replaced the MSD box. Well we had found the problem and were feeling good. THen someone realized we hadnot plugged the tach in. When we did the car would not get over 3500 again. Unplugged it and the motor was good. We even put the old stuff in it and it runs good until the tach was plugged in.

Ok, Do ya think a wire is grounding out somewhere or the tach itself has gone bad? Thanks for the help! Race

We had a tach. problem last year also, the car would run excellant in hot laps and the heat race and then about 1 or 2 laps into the feature it would start to miss and cut out, went thru everthing before we figured this out, must have been building up resistance, unplugged it from the dist. and it ran fine. It was a Autometer 5" w/recall. What greif to go thru to have fun ! Jim
