Are rules alow stock chev rods and cranks only,no aftermarket rod or crank. choices are stock gm rod only.what is the best choice here? xrods or pm Lt1 rods or??? Can you purchase the pink rods new from gm. thanks for your help.

We got one of the 604 Crate motors and punished it to check how much it could take before it let go. The PM rods in it are in great shape and were run at 7200 on alky and gas. We started at 6500 and keep stepping it up until we got to 7200 and the motor only needed a regular freshining at GM. That was after 38 weeks of racing + Practice nights and heat races it was over 1600 laps.

If you lost #6 it is most likely oil control problem.I lost one useing stock oil pan and started useing circle track pan and pick.

the powdered metal rod is supposed to be stronger than the pink rod.
