What difference can be felt going from 34, to 40 degrees on ignition timing?

Prob feel alittle stronger out of the corner but then lay down sooner on the straightaway. Make sure with that much timing you aren't detonating.

that's too much timing for an oval track engine. the main thing that determines optimum timing is the effiency of the heads. if your heads are so poor that 40 degrees is optimum, you need to find another set of heads...

34 to 36 degrees max is about right.
